In short

What PhoSo is

PhoSo is a camera app for Android. It replaces the step of sorting photos and videos after the fact: you set up folders in advance, choose one or more of them before you shoot, and PhoSo saves straight into those folders as you capture — alongside your phone's regular Gallery, not instead of it.

This policy explains what happens to your information — and your photos and videos specifically — when you use it.

Data we collect

None. PhoSo does not request the Android INTERNET permission, which means it has no technical ability to send anything to a server — ours or anyone else's. There's no account to create, no sign-in, no device identifiers or usage analytics collected, and no crash-reporting service phoning home in the background.

Everything PhoSo does — capturing, saving, organizing — happens entirely on your device.

Permissions we ask for

PhoSo requests exactly two permissions, both used only for their obvious purpose:

PhoSo does not request access to your contacts, location, call logs, SMS, or broader storage/files access. It doesn't need them, so it doesn't ask.

How your photos and videos are stored

When you take a photo or video, PhoSo saves it using Android's standard MediaStore system — the same system your phone's built-in Gallery app reads from. Files land under Pictures/PhoSo/… or Movies/PhoSo/…, mirroring the folder structure you set up in the app, so they show up in your Gallery organized exactly the way you intended.

The names and structure of the folders you create — not the photos themselves — are also kept in a small local index inside the app's own private storage, purely so PhoSo can show you your folder list. This index is deleted if you uninstall the app; your photos and videos are not, since they live in your phone's shared Gallery storage independently of PhoSo.

Sharing with third parties

There isn't any. PhoSo includes no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party libraries that transmit data. Nothing you do in the app is sold, rented, or shared with anyone — there's simply no channel for it to travel through.

Data security

Because everything stays on your device, your photos and videos are only as exposed as your phone itself — protected by whatever lock screen, encryption, and backup settings you already have configured on your device. PhoSo doesn't add a server-side attack surface, because it doesn't have a server.

Children's privacy

PhoSo is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age — which follows directly from collecting no information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new effective date above. Since PhoSo can't reach the internet, it can't notify you in-app — check back here if you want to review the current version.
